LIMITED- AND OPEN-ADMISSION SHELTERS IN MASSACHUSETTS

"No Kill Animal Shelters and Rescue Groups in Massachusetts" (.pdf)  Click here for an updated list.

www.MSPCA.org  The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) is one of the oldest sheltering organizations in the US. The MSPCA takes in more than 20,000 animals each year and finds homes for most. Although it does not call itself "no-kill" per se, each year the MSPCA saves far more animal lives than all the other shelter and rescue groups in MA combined.

www.arlboston.org The Animal Rescue League of Boston has a slightly different focus—not only sheltering but rescuing both domesticated animals and wildlife. Although this organization, too, does not refer to itself as "no-kill" per se, its leading-edge programs are exemplary throughout the US.
